Chekkouri Law Firm

Expertise — International Criminal Law

International Criminal Law

Since its founding, the Firm has devoted a significant share of its practice to international criminal law.

We regularly work in several languages — Arabic, French, English, and Spanish — and assist clients facing cross-border criminal matters.

We act on behalf of clients in Morocco and abroad who are the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by another country and wish to contest its enforcement. We also assist clients targeted by an international arrest warrant issued by Morocco.

What we handle

01

Extradition

Our Firm represents and assists clients in extradition matters (proceedings concerning individuals sought by INTERPOL) before the Court of Cassation and the other competent administrative institutions (the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Justice, and diplomatic missions).

02

International transfer of convicted persons

We also act for convicted clients detained in Morocco who wish to serve the remainder of their sentence in their home country.

03

International letters rogatory

We also follow up on international letters rogatory, in particular when a client is subject to investigative or judicial measures in Morocco requested by a foreign judicial authority.

Me Rabii Chekkouri

Me Rabii Chekkouri specialized in international criminal law from the outset of his training in France. His dual academic and professional background in Morocco and France gave him a practical grasp of the different facets of international judicial cooperation.

During his training at the Institut d'Études Judiciaires and the Lyon Bar School, Me Chekkouri gained experience through practical placements at law firms and public institutions in France and Morocco: criminal law firms in France, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Saint-Étienne Tribunal, the Prosecutor General's Office at Morocco's Court of Cassation (extradition section), the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Morocco (international judicial cooperation unit — extraditions and prisoner transfers), and the international cooperation division of Morocco's prison administration.
